Veterinarians International (VI) is a network of dedicated professionals who share a common goal: to reduce the illness and suffering of animals in underserved regions while enhancing the well being of people. Since over 60% of human diseases come from animals, our work directly bene ts both animals and people. We create or support programs that provide sound veterinary expertise and training and collaborate with local groups to educate communities about replicable and sustainable solutions.
How We Work
The model of Veterinarians International is to identify, train, and support strong leaders native to the countries where we work, so they can be more effective at disseminating knowledge and resources to their community. We collaborate to conceive culturally appropriate solutions to some of the greatest health challenges these communities face and do so from a position of empowerment rather than opposition.
The Evolution of Our Gala
Over the past three years, the Trunks of Love Gala benefitting Veterinarians International has attracted individuals with a passion to decrease animal illness, abuse, and poor veterinary care around the globe. Gala proceeds have funded initiatives such as the mobile elephant clinic program, and healthy pets program which offers low cost veterinary care and training in Chile.
The annual summer Gala has previously taken place at the stunning Baker House and Dopo La Spiaggia in East Hampton, attracting sold-out crowds united by philanthropy, passion for the cause and style.
Past Honorees have included Dr. Jane Goodall, Cornelia Guest, Penni Ludwig, Christie Brinkley and Andy Sabin.
This year we are unveiling a new name for
the gala—the Wild at Heart Gala benefitting Veterinarians International—to better encompass all of the incredible work that we do for all animals.
